OUR STORY
The story behind Pocket Jacks
We married in 2018, but our journey with film began two years earlier. In 2016, with our love of photography and film we found ourselves drawn to weddings — to the heartbeat of the day, the quiet glances, the roars of laughter, the way a room holds its breath during vows.
Our name nods to a lucky hand in Texas holdem poker — “pocket jacks” being a pair of jacks dealt face‑down. For us it symbolises a mix of craft, playfulness and serendipity, three key elements that make for a beautiful wedding film.
Outside of film we’ve always been makers — from music and crafts to building projects — and that creative spirit shapes the way we see and listen.
Over the years, our wedding films have taken us all over the UK and beyond — from castles and country halls to barns, churches, marquees and everything in between. Each place adds its own spirit, and we love finding the thread that makes every couple’s story unique.
Today we film a limited number of weddings each year. We work lightly, listen closely and let the day unfold. What you feel becomes the film you keep.

We’re there from the first preparations through to the dancefloor, present but unobtrusive. Two filmmakers, moving lightly and keeping you immersed in your day. Candid over staged, always.

We weave vows, speeches and natural moments into a film that has flow, breath and emotional resonance. Music and pacing are chosen to serve the story.
