Confetti, sailcloth and a very full dance floor
Ellie & Lewis

Ellie told us in her first enquiry that a wedding film mattered to her just as much as the photographs. She wanted something memorable to look back on. On 21 August 2021, she and Lewis married at St George’s Church in Bradley, then gathered their guests beneath sailcloth in Barnoldby-le-Beck. Looking at the two of them surrounded by everyone throwing confetti, you can see why she wanted to keep it.
St George’s Church, Bradley
The stone walls, stained glass and candles made a lovely setting for their church ceremony. We stayed close to the expressions: Ellie looking at Lewis, the smiles from their families and the two of them walking back down the aisle together.
Outside, their guests crowded around for the confetti. It is one of our favourite images from the day: Ellie and Lewis laughing in the middle, with their friends and family filling the frame.

The reception had the feel of a proper countryside gathering. Pale canvas, flowers and long tables kept the marquee light, while the fields gave us somewhere to take the two of them for a few minutes. The cows in the background of their portraits were a bonus.
There was plenty happening among the guests, too. The laughter around the tables carried through into an evening of live music and dancing. Ellie and Lewis were right in the middle of it, which is exactly where we like to be filming.
The people make the film
A few lovely portraits matter, but so do the reactions around them. For Ellie and Lewis, we wanted to keep the affection of the ceremony, the company of their guests and the energy of the party together. Those are the things that make this wedding feel like theirs when you return to it.
