Sunflowers, Yorkshire hills and a well-guarded takeaway
Emily & Chris

Emily’s dad had a story about a takeaway bag left on the kitchen counter, with a handwritten warning to leave it alone. Chris’s best man had twelve years of friendship to draw on. Between them, the speeches give a very good introduction to these two—and plenty of reasons for the room to laugh.
From All Saints Church to Holmfirth Vineyard
Emily and Chris made their promises at All Saints Church before heading to Holmfirth Vineyard for the reception. Sunflowers in Emily’s bouquet suited the countryside around them, and the vineyard’s big windows brought those views into the room.
A few stories, and a heartfelt thank-you
Emily’s dad had plenty of material: a takeaway bag left on the kitchen counter with a handwritten warning, and the familiar chaos she could leave behind. Chris’s best man had twelve years of friendship to draw on, moving from jokes about his competitiveness to the kindness that had kept them close.
Then Chris thanked Emily for looking after him, holding him together when he needed it and helping him become the person he was. After all the laughter, it was a particularly lovely thing to hear.
An evening above the vines
The light over Holmfirth Vineyard gave us a beautiful opportunity to spend a little time with the two of them. Chris had his jacket over his shoulder, Emily’s veil caught the sun, and they looked very happy in each other’s company. Their guests were waiting back inside for the evening: a wedding with good stories, close friends and plenty to celebrate.
