Finding their way back
Laura & James
Watch their film ↓
Laura and James met as teenagers, spent seven years apart and eventually found their way back to each other. When they reconnected online, they were talking within an hour. Six weeks later, Laura flew to Cyprus to see James. Two days after she arrived, he proposed on stage on New Year’s Eve.
Together again
The distance between Cyprus and England eventually became too much, and James returned home. By their Hirst Priory wedding, they had plenty of history behind the promises they were making.
James’s speech was wonderfully straightforward. He told Laura she was the best thing that had happened to him and that marrying her had made this the best day of his life. She was smiling back at him from the top table.
A family wedding at Hirst Priory
Preparations filled the house before guests gathered for the ceremony. The vows were emotional, with Laura taking her time over her words and James listening closely.
Afterwards came confetti outside the house and a reception with their families around them. Their friends could tell stories from much earlier in the relationship; the couple could finally celebrate where it had brought them.
From the grounds into the party
Hirst Priory gave us the red-brick house, trees and open grounds for portraits, then brought everyone indoors again for the evening. Laura and James had wanted a family knees-up, and there was no shortage of people ready to join the dance floor.
