Sarah and Simon’s wedding at St John’s Church in Golcar and The Huntsman Inn was a proper family celebration. The children had words of their own about their mum and dad finding each other. Simon tried to thank Sarah for everything she had given him, then had to stop before he cried. Around those moments, there was a very lively party.
Promises at St John’s Church, Golcar
They married on 10 August 2019, with friends and family in the church to hear their promises. The congratulations afterwards were full of hugs, children and familiar faces.
The children’s speech was especially lovely: a little teasing about bedtime, then a very straightforward declaration that their parents were a perfect match. It was personal in a way no borrowed wedding speech could be.
A Huntsman Inn celebration
At The Huntsman Inn above Holmfirth, their guests joined the singing and dancing with enthusiasm. Live drums, raised hands and friends enjoying themselves gave the evening plenty of energy.
Simon’s words brought it back to the family they had made. He thanked Sarah and spoke about how much they all loved her. It is an older film with plenty of life in it, and some very tender moments among the noise.
