Tom had a story about trying to impress Sophie, eventually winning her over with a little persistence and some dancing. Asking her to be his girlfriend involved alphabet spaghetti, and rather more help from Sophie than he had intended. At their Hall Farm wedding reception, nine years together gave him plenty to talk about.
A church full of support
During the ceremony, the minister reminded them to look around at the married couples among their guests. Those people were there to support them through the difficult days as well as the happy ones. It was a lovely way to bring the congregation into the promises.
Asked what they admired in each other, Sophie and Tom spoke about passion, thoughtfulness and generosity. The answers were simple and personal.
Their reception at Hall Farm
The brickwork and gardens at Hall Farm Hotel & Restaurant gave the reception its setting. Their friends gathered around the tables for Tom’s stories, and later for live music and the evening.
There was time outside with the two of them, laughing together before returning to their guests. We remember the affection as much as the humour: people who had grown together and were very happy to be making this next promise.
