Harriet & Joe

Before the ceremony, Harriet opened a card from Joe telling her how much he was looking forward to the day. Later, he stood up in front of their guests and spoke about her determination, ambition and thoughtfulness. Their Stubton Hall wedding gave those private and public words a lovely setting.
The promises, and the people hearing them
Harriet and Joe’s promises were about making time for each other, offering support and keeping laughter in their life together. In Stubton Hall’s ceremony room, with their family and friends around them, those words had a very happy audience.
Pride, memories and a little teasing
Harriet’s dad spoke about how proud he and her mum were. He remembered her granddad too, saying this would have been another day to bring a tear to his eye.
Joe’s admiration for Harriet was just as clear. Determined, ambitious and thoughtful: these were the qualities he loved in her. The best man had the less flattering stories ready, and the room was soon laughing again.
A summer wedding at Stubton Hall
The gardens gave them a little time together, with long grass, trees and the house behind them. Then it was back to live music, dancing and children joining the grown-ups on the floor. There was plenty worth keeping from both parts of the day: the affection in the speeches and the pleasure of having everyone together.
