Winter mist settled over Stubton Hall’s gardens while Katie and Danny gathered their family and friends inside. Danny had written to Katie before the ceremony, telling her how much he was looking forward to calling her his wife. Later, with the room listening, he was rather less certain how he had managed to persuade her.
The people beside them
Katie’s family welcomed Danny warmly. His best men had known him since school and were very happy to share the less flattering memories. The room soon made it clear which stories it recognised.
Their ceremony had laughter alongside the promises. They spoke about loving, treasuring and respecting one another, with friends and family close by.
A wedding at Stubton Hall
The house felt particularly welcoming against the cold, misty gardens. Katie’s veil and wrap suited the winter portraits, while the evening had fairy lights, sparklers and guests ready to dance.
We love the contrast between the quiet space outside and that warm, lively room. There was no shortage of feeling in either: the letter, the family welcome and two people enjoying a day they had looked forward to together.
