Dan warned Ellie that his speech would be a very public display of affection. Then he admitted the words he had written could not quite describe how he had felt on seeing her. Their Healing Manor wedding had that lovely mixture of sincerity and humour, with a family very happy to celebrate the two of them.
A welcome from the people who knew them
Ellie’s dad spoke with pride about the thoughtful, talented woman she had become. He was happy to see her with someone dependable, loyal and ready to be beside her through good times and difficult ones. Dan thanked his own parents for the life they had given him.
There was plenty of laughter too. Ellie read her letter while getting ready, with friends around her sharing the excitement. Later, Dan told her how beautiful she looked and how much he meant it when he said he loved her.
The gardens and fields at Healing Manor
The grounds gave us beautiful places to spend a little time together: greenery around the old brickwork, long grass and a field where the smoke flares added a burst of colour. Ellie and Dan were lovely to film, laughing and looking over at one another.
Their reception had a moon-shaped backdrop and a lively evening waiting for them. We remember the portraits fondly, but it is the affection in those family voices that makes this one worth returning to.
