Jess & Ben at Doddington Hall

Jess and Ben’s friends helped bring them together over a double date. Five years, two houses and a little boy later, those friends were telling the story at Doddington Hall. After more than two years of planning and the uncertainty of the pandemic, being able to gather everyone in one room meant a great deal.

Friends who knew the beginning

The best man remembered being asked whether he had any suitable friends, and Jess agreeing to casual drinks. Ben evidently made a good impression. By the wedding, the people who had introduced them had plenty of history to draw on.

Jess’s dad was visibly moved by walking her down the aisle. Ben thanked her parents for their support, then spoke about the kindness, care and compassion he loved in Jess. The jokes were there too, but the pride was unmistakable.

Promises at Doddington Hall

Their vows were about sharing thoughts, hopes and dreams, and giving each other the best of themselves. Doddington Hall’s ceremony room was a beautiful setting for those promises, with family close enough to hear every word.

Outside, the gardens gave them a little time together before returning to their guests. This is an older film we remain very fond of: beautiful portraits, a family already taking shape and the joy of a wedding that could finally happen.
