A little rain, a great deal of love
Alexandra & Tom

Rain changed Alexandra and Tom’s plans at Barff House, moving the ceremony into the barn. Their speeches had a much longer story to tell. Tom spoke about the ups and downs they had faced together and the pride he felt in Alexandra; her family spoke about the way the two of them had kept moving towards happiness.
The morning and a change of plan
Alexandra got ready in the nearby cottages, where a scrapbook from her sister gave her something personal to look through before the ceremony. Tom prepared at home, with his groomsmen around him.
Once everyone moved into the barn, the vows brought the day into focus. Alexandra and Tom stood close together, with guests watching from either side and the rain left outside.
Words that meant something
Tom thanked Alexandra for being beside him through the difficult parts as well as the good ones. His friends recognised the same thing in their speeches, acknowledging the care she had brought into his life.
Their friends supplied plenty of teasing alongside it. It was lovely to hear that history from the people who had been there through it.
Back outside at Barff House
There was still time in the gardens and surrounding fields for Alexandra and Tom together, and Eleanor Grace played during the drinks reception. Later, an acoustic version of Blink-182’s First Date accompanied their first dance.
