The glittery dress he never forgot

Dan remembered Olivia arriving at a work Christmas party in 2015, wearing a glittery dress and heels. His jaw dropped. At their wedding, her dress had been another complete surprise, and his reaction was much the same. They married at All Saints Church before celebrating with family and friends at Laceby Manor.
The words before the ceremony
Their letters had the excitement of a day they had spent so long waiting for. Dan was looking forward to seeing Olivia at the altar and trying, not particularly convincingly, to promise he would not become emotional.
Olivia’s dad spoke about watching her grow up and welcomed Dan as someone who already felt like a son. Dan thanked her family in return. There was real pride in the room, alongside the relief and pleasure of finally being able to celebrate.
A summer reception at Laceby Manor
Some guests had travelled from Scotland to join them. Laceby Manor brought everyone together for the reception, with time in the gardens and beside the water before the evening.
Olivia and Dan were wonderful together in their portraits, smiling, holding hands and enjoying a little space between the gatherings. Their letters and speeches give the film its personal story; the friends and family around them give it its warmth.
