A small correction to how we met

Tom & Emma

Tom & Emma at Laceby Manor

Tom and Emma’s story was introduced as a meeting through a mutual friend. Later, Tom used his speech to make a small correction: a well-known dating app had actually done the introduction. He remembered being so nervous on their first date that he could barely get a sentence out. On the wedding day, he managed rather well.

From Scartho to Laceby Manor

Their wedding began with a church ceremony in Scartho before the reception at Laceby Manor. Emma got ready with her bridesmaids while Tom was with the people closest to him.

Both took time to speak directly to the other. Emma remembered Tom’s romantic nature from the beginning; Tom spoke about her kindness and the smile that had first drawn him in.

Stories, speeches and Emma’s promises

Emma’s dad Phil and best man James brought family stories into the room, including his early interest in racing and repairing cars. Emma spoke as well, promising to stand beside him, cheer him on and keep making a good life together.

There was affection and teasing in equal measure. Tom had a word about Emma’s navigation skills; Emma was quite happy to acknowledge that being her best friend did not stop him being an occasional annoyance.

An evening at Laceby Manor

The gardens gave them time for a walk among the roses and trees, with friends gathered outside nearby. Their guests were nearby, ready for the first dance and the evening.
